Adult Bible Drill is here!  Come join us as we start our third year of Adult Bible Drill at Morningside Baptist Church.

Why Adult Bible Drill?

  • Whether we are 8, 18, or 88, God commands us to hide His Word in our hearts. "Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against Thee."  Psalm 119:11
  • It is an encouragement to the children and youth who are participating in Bible Drill
  • It's a perfect tool to help you as you witness to others.
  • It sets an example for the other adults in the church.
  • It keeps you accountable for staying in God's Word.
  • It keeps your mind young!

Who can participate?

  • Anyone who is in the college/career or adult departments is eligible to particpate.

What do I do?

  • Pick a level of verses to start learning. If you've never done Bible Drill as a child or youth, it is recommended that you start at the children's level.   There are links below that will take you to the current list of verses for the 2010-2011 year
  • Your goal is to have the verses and books of the Bible memorized by mid-April 2011.
  • Decide which of the two options you'd like to try:
    • Scripture memory level - memorize the books of the Bible and Scripture verses.  You may choose the children's level, the youth level, or the high school level.

    • Adult Bible Drill participant - memorize the books of the Bible and Scripture verses, then participate in a drill at the church level only.  Once again, you may choose to memorize either the children's level, youth level, or the high school level.
  • Say the verses and the books of the Bible to an accountability partner who will mark off the verses as you progress through the list.  In the spring, you will be awarded a certificate by Discipleship Ministries of the Georgia Baptist Convention according to the level you chose to participate at.  Checkoff lists complete with the memory verses can be downloaded here:
